How to hit a Nick Faldo or Lee Trevino-style fade

Thank you for watching this Explanar Golf Lesson video.

In this session, we look at how the leading coach from the 1980s and '90s, David Leadbetter, worked with his pupil Nick Faldo to create a controlled fade shot by keeping the shaft of the club low through impact while rotating his body through the ball.

This was a move also favoured by the legendary golfer Lee Trevino.

Using the Explanar swing hoop to keep your through swing on plane, you can replicate that very same move and hit that desirable left-to-right shot shape.

And that’s the real beauty of Explanar – whether you’re hitting a fade or a draw, whether you’re releasing the club or holding it off, the swing hoop will keep your club on the perfect plane.
